Treatment
Treating bladder dysfunctions
It is possible to treat the problems that arise as a result of the body's deteriorated or lost ability to send signals through the spinal cord's nerve cells.
The treatment is based on three main principles, with the following goals:
- Prevent backflow from the bladder to the kidneys
- Prevent complications, such as large amounts of residual urine and UTIs
- Increase the quality of life by reducing urine leakage
This can be achieved through a combination of different treatments
- Catheterisation, CIC; Indwelling catheter or Suprapubic catheter
- Pharmaceutical treatment
- Surgical treatment
- Pelvic training
- Accessories
